Wheel thrown porcelain vase using water etching decoration techniques. I start with unfired bone-dry ware. Paint design using shellac. This is a great technique to add depth and visual interest to a surface while keeping a very clean and simple finish. I hand painted with Mother of Pearl lustre and fired a third time to 1159 to create bright shiny iridescent.
